This month’s CattleMax online workshop schedule is ready. Join us on Tuesday, July 20, 8-9PM CST or Thursday, July 29, 8-9PM CST (or both) to see and hear about CattleMax right at your own computer!

When you sign up for the free workshop, you’ll receive an email with all of the details of how to join the session. You can either call in by phone or listen via your computer speakers, and you’ll see my screen and hear me describe areas of the software and answer your questions. Everyone is in listen only mode, which means no one else will hear the dogs barking or when someone came into your room. To ask questions, you simply type in the questions box and I’ll instantly receive it and will answer you.

Whether you are checking out CattleMax for your record keeping needs, just recently bought CattleMax or have been using it for years, these online workshops are a great way to learn more about what the software can do for you, and also benefit from questions that other attendees have.

The weather is keeping us inside more in the evening, so why not take this opportunity to get your cattle record keeping in order? Whether you already have CattleMax or are checking out the trial version, these free online workshops are for you.

This month, the workshop topic continues to be “Basics of Cattle Record Keeping”. Penny will show and discuss common areas of CattleMax, with the majority of workshop time going to questions. It’s a comfortable, friendly setting – no question is too basic – so come join one or several workshops.

This month, the workshops will be on Tuesday, March 9th; Thursday, March 11th; and Tuesday, March 23rd. All of them start at 8pm Central time and last an hour.

The topics this month are “Cattle Record Keeping for Small Herds” and “Getting Started with Cattle Software in 3 Steps”.

With these workshops, you see CattleMax on your screen while seeing and hearing me show different areas of the software. What’s also great about these workshops is that you can ask questions (just by typing into the box on the screen) and I’ll answer your question right then and there!

You know having more organized cattle records makes a difference – so where do you start? What’s needed to get up and running with CattleMax? This free online workshop, especially for producers in search of a record keeping solution, will show you how easy it is to keep your records up-to-date so you can enjoy the cattle lifestyle even more.

Concerned about your Internet speed? Not a problem – this presentation system works just fine on dial-up Internet connection. To get started, you’ll simply click a link that’s emailed to you, and you’ll see the demonstration and hear the audio (your choice – through your computer speakers or by calling a special phone number).

You’ll be in “listen only” mode, which means you’ll hear Penny presenting the software, but she’s not able to hear you (so don’t worry about everyone hearing the dogs barking or phone ringing!). To ask a question, you’ll simply type it into the questions box that is on the screen.

After registering, you’ll receive an email with more detailed information, including an agenda for the workshops.

The first breed-specific online workshop will take place on Thursday, March 26th, at 2pm CST.

American Angus Association members will have the opportunity to learn how the AAA interface options in CattleMax CS help make record keeping on their registered quicker and easier.

If you raise a different breed of cattle, hang tight and stay tuned to the Online Workshop schedule – this workshop is only the first in the Breed Association Interface series!

You will get detailed instructions on how to quickly register calves with your association, receive EPD updates into CattleMax, and get started with a complete herd inventory file, depending on which options are offered for your breed association.

If you have been curious about how to better integrate your breed associaton records and CattleMax, this is your opportunity to receive first-hand instruction and ask any questions.

• The “breed association interface” series has begun, and will feature a different breed interface each month

For the month of December, we already had two online workshops designed for those just getting started with CattleMax CS or still evaluating the trial version to take a guided tour and have an opportunity to ask questions and learn from each other. Both workshops were successful, and our evening workshop boasted the largest attendance yet.

We still have four more opportunities for you to learn with the CattleMax Team through our free online workshops this month.

Next Friday, December 19^th, we’re hosting two workshops on Basic Reporting in CattleMax CS. It’s designed for producers who want to learn about using the reporting features in CattleMax and will give a basic introduction to the different reporting features and how to use them.

Then on Monday, December 22^nd, we’ll have two opportunities for you to learn how to use the extensive AI (Artificial Insemination) and ET (Embryo Transfer) inventory and breeding records in CattleMax CS. We’ll cover everything from entering your first semen or embryo inventory records to using clean-up bulls to reporting your AI success.

We always have requests for more training sessions and other ways for us to get together. We wanted to offer this opportunity to as many of you as possible, and we thought the best way to do that was with an online workshop.

To get things started this month, Penny is hosting two workshops next Tuesday, October 21st. These first two workshops will both cover a general overview of CattleMax CS, and leave plenty of time to answer your questions.

It should be a big help for anyone who is still looking at the trial version, just purchased CattleMax, or converting from an older version and needing help learning CattleMax CS.

Once again, we’ll be hosting two workshops during the upcoming Texas A&M Beef Cattle Short Course in College Station, Texas.  Both workshops are free and open to anyone, so bring any friends or company you might have tagging along for the weekend with you.

For those not familiar with the Beef Cattle Short Course, it is a 2.5 day course covering a wide variety of cattle management topics. Highlights of this year’s seminar include sessions on responding to rising input costs, forage and nutrition management and cattle handling demonstrations. Workshop 1: Sunday, August 3rd at 5:00pm
We’ll meet at the Holiday Inn Express on University Drive at 5 pm for a hands-on, interactive workshop with customers who are familiar with the software or looking to learn more about the advanced features. We’ll be working at a faster pace, so you’re encouraged to bring a laptop to work along as we go, and lots of questions for us.

Workshop 2: Wednesday, August 6th a 12:30pm
Hang around a bit on Wednesday after the conclusion of the seminars, and join us in MSC Room 292 at 12:30 pm, and we’ll start out with a basic introduction to the software, and then work through any questions you may have. If you’re just getting started with CattleMax, or maybe even still evaluating your record keeping options, this workshop is for you.

A complimentary light meal will be provided at both sessions.
