The Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board completed the January 2009 Beef Producer Attitude Survey to see how well cattle producers are currently informed on the Beef Checkoff, and gauge approval of the program.
They found that 40% of cattle producers still know very little about the checkoff program and where their dollars are going.
Do you think you’re well informed on the checkoff?
Approval of the checkoff’s marketing and promotion efforts is still fairly high, and only took a slight drop from last year’s survey, down 6% to a 68% approval rating.

How do you feel about the $1/head you send to the program?
If you think you should brush up on your checkoff knowledge, or just want to see what’s going on, the Beef Board recently started MyBeefCheckoff.com. It talks about new beef product development, promotion and education activities and lists upcoming events. If nothing else, swing by and pick up a new beef recipe or two.
